Ask about these

Meals: Whether dinner and breakfast are included, and what time dinner is served. Inns often serve at a fixed time and will not wait

This is the one to aim for in Nagasaki, and the reason is how you arrive. The hotel stands on the canal inside Huis Ten Bosch, and you check in from a boat — a private cruiser carries you and your luggage along the water, past the Dutch houses, to the hotel door. It is a copy of a real hotel of the same name in Amsterdam, and it is the most formal house in the park. 310 rooms.

You are inside the gates. The park empties in the evening and you are still in it. The lights come on and the crowds have gone home, and in the morning you are already inside before the first visitors arrive.
Arriving by boat is not an optional extra tour — it is how you check in. Most people who visit Huis Ten Bosch never see the park from the water at all.
Luggage goes on the boat with you. Anyone who has walked a suitcase through a theme park will understand why that matters.
The park is the largest of its kind in Japan by area, and it is a long way from Nagasaki city. Staying inside turns a rushed day trip into two unhurried days.

Worth knowing

Check what your ticket includes when you book. Park admission, the boat and the room are not always one price, and it is cheaper to sort out before you arrive than at the gate. Tulips are the spring draw and the illumination runs in the colder months — exact dates change every year.
